Residency Requirements

When moving to Egypt you may want or need to establish residency.  Requirements may include obtaining a work and residency permit.

Obtaining a Driver’s License


Typical documentation required to obtain a driver’s license include:

• Valid passport
• Original driver’s license
• 4 passport sized identity photos
• Health certificate issued by an Egyptian doctor, proving you are fit to drive

Additional Notes

Foreigners with a license issued in English can drive in Egypt short term. Within six months of arrival you must obtain an Egyptian Driver’s license.


Opening a Bank Account
