Obtaining a Driver’s Licence

Requirements

Typical documentation required to obtain a driver’s license include:

• Medical health certificate
• Valid photo ID
• Valid driver’s licence from country of origin
• Proof of residency
• Three passport photographs

Additional Notes

EU citizens may drive in Italy with valid an EU driver’s licence for an unrestricted period of time. A Non EU citizens driver’s licence is valid for 1 year. After which this may be converted to an Italian Driver’s licence (if there is an agreement between Italy and country of origin) or you must apply for a new driver’s license in Italy. It is advisable for expats to obtain an international driving licence from their country of origin before relocating to Italy.

 

Opening a Bank Account
