Transportation
While most residents commute by car, Seattle has a robust public transportation system including buses, electric trolleybuses, commuter trains, and light rail. Seattle also has the US’s largest ferry network, making the city and its suburbs easily accessible by water, too.
Fun Facts
Pike Place is a 100+ year old farmers market and major tourist attraction famously known for its fishmongers, produce stalls, craft stands, and specialty food shops. The market was created in 1907 enabling consumers to purchase directly from farmers because the price of produce skyrocketed and consumers and civic leaders felt wholesalers were price-gouging.
Seattle has a rainy image but it gets less rainfall than Atlanta, Boston, Houston, and New York. However, there are quite a few cloudy days particularly in the winter.
