When you move to Sweden you may want or need to establish residency.  Requirements may include:

Obtaining a Driver’s License


A foreign driver’s license issued in a country outside the EEA is not valid in Sweden if you have been registered in Sweden for more than a year. As long as you are not registered in Sweden, there is no time limit for how long you are allowed to drive in the country utilizing a foreign driver’s license. If you have a foreign driver’s license issued in an country within the EEA you may continue driving as long as the driver’s license is still valid.


Opening a Bank Account

In order to open a bank account, you may be asked for:

• Valid Residence permit card
• Employment Contract

Time Required

Typically, opening a bank account can be completed same day.
